Hello! I'm Megan Brooke Thomas and I am a creator.

I've always loved creating things! Drawing, filming, video editing, photo editing, photography, digital art, building, writing, cooking, and the list goes on!

Elizabeth Gilbert, in her book Big Magic, talked about how ideas are an energetic life form. How they spend eternity swirling around us, searching for an available and willing human partner to help them manifest. If it comes to you and you let it go, well, it will go find someone else. If you hold onto it and trust it, it will reveal its full potential to you over time.

This really hit home the first time I read it and I am constantly reminded of it as I watch it happen over and over again. Sometimes it passes me by, that very specific idea that I had but didn't have time to commit to, someone else did it. Sometimes I grab onto it, those art ideas that I start just for fun but have no known intention behind, they will eventually reveal their deeper meaning. They always seem to come at just the right time and help me process things that I didn't even know needed to be processed.

Creating, for me, is that thing that I just have to do. It can be frustrating, difficult, and time consuming but I just keep coming back for more. It finds its way into every aspect of my life, into my speech-language sessions and school days, onto my placemats in restaurants, in my gifts to family and friends, in my activism, and everything in between.

I am one of those people who have a broad interest spectrum. I think it is my mix of loving creativity and learning. Books, music, film, nature, travel, etc. Film is probably my favorite hobby (outside of my art creations), being in a different world, studying the creation of it, studying the actors executing their craft, film sets, music, lighting, sound effects, scripts, camera operations, everything! Nature to me isn't a hobby but the thing that cradles my soul. It's how I'm created, how I thrive, how I help others, truly the thing that is the center of it all.

My family is top tier in my life. My wonderful, beautiful, brilliant partner-in-crime is right next to me as the world spins around us. Our loving families have our backs and lift us up.

I am a creator who is pulled to help people connect with other people, passions, and ideas. I am always intentionally learning new things, which allows me to see a rainbow of people who sometimes have a way to connect and who sometimes feel alone or like they are the only ones. My art often reflects this as it balances the greys of a pencil with the colors of the rainbow.
